The Poet Life, is launching the Fighting Cancer With Poetry Challenge! This is a video campaign where we’re challenging YOU and poets around the world to write a cancer-related poem, record yourself reading or reciting it, and post it to your social media. Tag us on Instagram & Facebook and don’t forget to hashtag #FightingCancerWithPoetry. We will be sure to repost your video on our @FightingCancerWithPoetry page and here on the website. As an added bonus, each person that participates, will have their name featured on a t-shirt/sweatshirt among six other participating poets.

Geno Young is a grammy-nominated musician who influences many facets of today’s musical landscape. A native of Oak Cliff, Texas, Geno is graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and Howard University. Geno has toured extensively in the U. S. and Europe as a performer, musical director, producer, conductor and lecturer. He has served as musical director and producer for some of soul music’s most influential performers while garnering critical acclaim as a singer-songwriter. Geno has served as a Board Governor (Texas) for the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and is a voting member of the Grammy awards. Mr. Young has consistentlyreceived stellar reviews for his work in the theatre. A short list of his music direction credits include The Color Purple, Aint Misbehavin’, Little Shop Of Horrors, Don’t Bother Me, I Can’t Cope, Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, Spunk and The Seven by Will Power
